With 350 miles of stunning coastline, Kent boasts some of the best beaches in the country.
THE WHITE CLIFFS
The world's most famous white cliffs can be explored at Dover,with its magical tunnels and cliff-top walks. A thriving sea-sports centre
is located in Dover, offering activities throughout the year. A Sea Safari from here takes in the coastal treasures by boat.
WATER-SPORTS
There is surfing to be enjoyed up and down the coast, as well as sailing, kite-surfing and paddle-boarding in places such as Dymchurch (40 mins)
and Folkestone (35mins). There is also plenty of opportunity for sea angling from the beaches or by chartered boat.
FAMILY BEACHES
There are gorgeous family-friendly beaches at Broadstairs, which are perfect for lazy beach breaks, and many fish and chip shops up and
down the coast offering a chance to sample the local catches of the day. Whitstable (45mins), with its picturesque harbour, is famous
for its oysters and beach-huts, and is perfect for a little weekend celebrity-spotting.
WILDLIFE
The Romney Marsh, Dungeness and the Isle of Sheppey are havens for wildlife, with bird-watching centres dotted throughout. There
is also the delightful Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway, a steam railway line, which runs to the lighthouse at Dungeness.
