Howletts Wild Animal Park (15 mins) and Port Lympne (35 mins) focus on endangered species in natural settings. Both have cafes and playgrounds; Port Lympne also offers a safari.
Wingham Wildlife Park (15 mins) is smaller but popular, with 200 species and a new dinosaur exhibit featuring 29 life-like models.
Dover Castle, overlooking the town and sea, is a classic fortress with turrets and keeps. It hosts events and features the 'Secret Wartime Tunnels' from WWII—fun for all ages.
Nearby, Deal and Walmer castles are beautifully preserved.
Leeds Castle, 50 minutes away, is known as the 'loveliest castle in the world,' with a maze, gardens, and GoApe adventure.
